I am Janae Rairdon, and I am thrilled to be returning for my second year teaching 4th grade at Scott School! For my undergrad, I attended Ball State University where I double majored in Elementary Education and Special Education. I received my master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Cincinnati to obtain my principal's license.
I have previously taught 2nd and 4th grade in EVSC at Glenwood Leadership Academy, and I spent a year teaching 6th grade English Language Arts at Scottsburg Middle School.
I enjoy spending time outside with our two-year old, black, Labrador retriever, Rye. I also enjoy crafting, refinishing furniture, spending time with family, and playing/coaching volleyball. This year I will be coaching our 4th/5th grade and our 6th grade Volleyball teams.
I am so eager to welcome this new group of 4th graders into my classroom. I strive to establish a classroom environment that fosters a love for learning where students feel safe and empowered to take risks, grow, and take ownership over their potential.
